As you can see in the picture above in the outfit I included a loose but covering shirt, a jean under the knee skirt, and sandals. I live in Florida and so this is kind of how I dress if I am staying outside a lot. I love wearing jean skirts because they have shape and you don't have to worry about the wind blowing them up. In this outfit I show wearing your hair up for half-way up really helps with the heat. If you like wearing long skirts then fluffy or t-shirt material maxi skirts are good choices. T-shirts are nice to wear also but it depends on the color (darker is hotter) and the thickness of the shirt. Airy but covering is what you should go for.
This is an outfit from my closet Shirt is from Ross (or TJMaxx)
Skirt is from Burlington Coat Factory I may have done a post like this before but this one will be different, it's about party outfit ideas for modest people for different types of parties. I thought of making this because my birthday party is coming in a few months and so I have been thinking about what to wear. Press Read more below.
Before I go into details I should show you what grandma does and doesn't look like. First one is grandma-ish and the other one isn't. The reason the first one is grandma-ish is for a few reasons 1. It's baggy. The shirt is ok to itself but not with the skirt because they are both baggy In my opinion you need a combination. like a maxi skirt with a sort of bulky jacket, like a jean jacket. 2. The Print overly dramatic prints such as small floral prints give you a more grandma-ish look. below are some examples, just note as pretty as some of these fabrics are they just don't belong on clothes. Here are some reasons the second one isn't grandma-ish 1. Fits nicely not too tight but not baggy or frumpy. The cut of the clothes is very important. 2. Simple Patterns, Bright Colors, Not that bright colors are necessary but I think it's better with atleast one. It's good that the color is bold not patterned, but colors in patterns can be good if it matches the shirt. Usually simpler is better. Here are some examples of good fabrics This is all my opinion, and if don't agree then don't! Wear what makes you happy!
Have to say, not my favorite style (at all) but If you like it you should wear it because you will look best if you feel best! Sorry if my pictures arn't 100% accurate to you, I just put some togehter I thought looked best. 1. CD collar All you need is fabric glue and scissors and an old CD you don't want Cut your CD into pieces like on the picture to the side and fabric glue it to the collar of your shirt with the shiny side up! Let dry overnight. all Images are from Google search. 2. Rhinestone Collar for this one you will be needing any kind of rhinestone or just little decorations with a flat side and you just fabric glue the flat side on the collar in any order you want! Let dry overnight. 3. Pearl Collar take as many or little pearl buttons as you want and you just hand sew them to your collar, you may have to look up how to sew on the button if you have any trouble. GLUE WILL NOT WORK. 4. Sequin Collar For this collar you will need sequin fabric and either fabric glue or a sewing machine. Either you sew the sequin fabric on the collar or you cover the back of the fabric in fabric glue and carefully spread it evenly onto the shirt collar. Let it dry for AT LEAST 24 hours, I'm not even sure if that is long enough. Here are some super cute ideas and tips to make your boring closet more fun! 1. Graphic Tee This craft is super easy all you need is fabric paint, wax paper, knife, and a T-shirt.
